Michael Silacci

Opus-One-Winemaker & Future Shaper

Michael Silacci has shaped the wines of Opus One in Oakville, Napa Valley, for 25 years. Before joining the estate founded by Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi, he oversaw viticulture and winemaking at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and King Estate in Oregon, spent six years at Beaulieu Vineyard, and gained further experience in France and Chile. Silacci studied oenology and viticulture at the U.C. Davis and the Université de Bordeaux. At Opus One, he brings vineyard and cellar into seamless alignment while advancing the estate through innovation, sustainability, mentoring and climate responsibility. His view of wine is clear: great classics are shaped by time, place and human precision.
