João Roquette Álvares Ribeiro

João Roquette Álvares Ribeiro is Exprt Manager at Quinta do Vallado and a sixth-generation descendant of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, one of the most influential figures in the history of Portuguese wine. Founded in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the Douro Valley’s historic estates and remains family-owned to this day. As Export Manager, João is responsible for the winery’s international markets and spends much of the year travelling worldwide to present Douro and Port wines. Through masterclasses, tastings, and close exchange with sommeliers, importers, and wine professionals, he communicates the evolution of the Douro, balancing its heritage with a modern and dynamic vision for the region.
