Matthias Balgavý
POPCHOP Founder & Future Food Curator
Matthias Balgavý is the founder, publisher and Managing Director of POPCHOP. Founded in 2022, the food magazine and event platform works on future-oriented food culture at the intersection of food, design, pop culture and social change. He was previously part of the founding team behind the Austrian launch of VICE and later worked in the management of the Viennese club Grelle Forelle. He then developed real estate projects with a focus on the creative industries and gastronomy. Today, with POPCHOP, he makes culinary innovation, new forms of enjoyment and contemporary food culture visible.
