Michael Moosbrugger
Born in 1966, Michael Moosbrugger grew up in Lech am Arlberg, where his family runs the Hotel Gasthof Post. After initial studies and experience in hospitality, he began his wine training in 1992 at the estates of Fritz Salomon and Josef Jamek. In 1996, he took over responsibility for Schloss Gobelsburg in the Kamptal. There, he consistently shifted production towards origin-driven wines, developed the estate’s “Dynamic Cellar Concept” and created the Tradition series, dedicated to historical methods of winemaking. Since 2006, Moosbrugger has served as chairman of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter and played a key role in developing the vineyard classification model that was incorporated into Austrian wine law in 2023.
