Katharina Wechsler

Katharina Wechsler is one of the most distinctive voices of modern Rheinhessen. Together with her husband Manuel, she follows an independent and open-minded approach to winemaking at the family estate in Westhofen — refusing to be confined by stylistic categories or rigid conventions. Alongside precise, terroir-driven wines from the great limestone vineyards surrounding Westhofen, the winery also produces more experimental low-intervention wines with individuality, texture and energy.

This balance between origin, freedom and a finely tuned sense of style has brought increasing international attention to the estate in recent years. While the Rieslings are known for their clarity, calmness and depth, the latest developments in Pinot Noir have also proven highly promising.
