Icons of Time: Riesling & Bordeaux brings together 10 to 12 exceptional wines that have earned this status over the past five decades. Hosted by Stephan Reinhardt (The Wine Advocate) and Neal Martin (Vinous), the tasting explores two of the world’s most celebrated wine regions through a carefully curated selection of their defining wines.
The provisional line-up includes legendary bottles from Knoll, F.X. Pichler, Klaus Peter Keller, Trimbach, Joh. Jos. Prüm, Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion, Château Latour, Château Lafite Rothschild and Pétrus. The final selection will depend on the availability of specific vintages and library releases.

Neal Martin
Born in Britain, Neal Martin moved to Japan after completing his studies, where he initially worked as an English teacher. A later position with an importer sparked his interest in wine. He completed WSET Level 4, visited numerous wineries and launched wine-journal.com in 2003, which quickly reached 100,000 readers. In 2006, Robert Parker invited him to work as a critic for The Wine Advocate. In 2012, he published a book on Pomerol. Neal Martin left Robert Parker Wine Advocate in 2017. Since 2018, he has worked for Vinous, where he is responsible for Bordeaux, Burgundy, South Africa, Port, Tokaj and England.
Stephan Reinhardt
Stephan Reinhardt first worked as a theatre scholar, researching and teaching at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. As a theatre and music critic for Süddeutsche Zeitung, he turned to wine in 2000 and has written exclusively on the subject ever since. His work has appeared in Welt am Sonntag, taz, and numerous magazines in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including Der Feinschmecker, Falstaff, Fine, and GQ. In 2014, Robert M. Parker Jr. invited him to join The Wine Advocate, where he now covers the wines of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Alsace. He is also a wine columnist for Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung. His books The Finest Wines of Germany and Wein spricht deutsch are important publications on wine from German-speaking regions.
