GAJA: ICONS & VINTAGES
Giovanni Gaja at Restaurant La Fenice
Giovanni Gaja at La Fenice: this signature tasting places great vintages side by side and makes development and style tangible in direct comparison, accompanied by a menu from the Michelin-starred restaurant.
GAJA: ICONS & VINTAGES
Angelo Gaja has shaped Italian winemaking like few others. Since the 1960s, the name Gaja has stood for a clear idea: to create wines that preserve their origin and at the same time set international benchmarks.
With its consistent focus on single sites, among them Sorì Tildin, Sorì San Lorenzo, and Costa Russi, Gaja has lastingly changed the view of Piemonte. Precision in the vineyard, clarity in style, and a fine feel for development continue to shape the wines today.
The estate is now led by the next generation. Gaia, Rossana, and Giovanni Gaja further develop the signature, with respect for tradition and a clear view forward. Piemonte is now complemented by projects in Montalcino, Bolgheri, and on Etna, which show how consistently this philosophy can be transferred to different terroirs.
At Restaurant La Fenice, an evening emerges dedicated entirely to comparison. Aged vintages and young wines are placed side by side and make development, style, and origin immediately tangible in the glass.
The tasting is accompanied by a menu from the restaurant, recognised with a Michelin star, that complements the wines with precision without placing itself in the foreground.
